Component Inspection
■ Check Telescope switch
- Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
- Monitor the "TELESCO. FORWARD (BACKWARD) SW" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating Telescope switch.
Specification: Refer the specifications in Fig.1), Fig.2)
- Is the measured current data within specifications?
YES
- Go to 1 Check Telescope motor procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good Telescope switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Telescope switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
■ Check Telescope motor
- Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
- Select "ACTUATION TEST" mode on scantool and press [F1] to start
- Dose Telescope motor work properly?
YES
- Go to 1 Check Telescope sensor procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good Telescope motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Telescope motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
■ Check Telescope sensor
- Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
- Monitor the "TELESCOPE SENSOR" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating telescope switch.
Specification: Refer the specifications in Fig.5)
- Is the measured voltage within specifications in Fig.5)?
YES
- Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good Telescope motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Telescope motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
