Component Inspection

■ Check tilt switch 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Monitor the "TILT UP (DOWN) SWITCH" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating tilt switch.

    Specification:  Refer the specifications in Fig.1), Fig.2)

  4. Is the measured current data within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to  1 to Check tilt motor procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good tilt switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace tilt switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check tilt motor 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Select "ACTUATION TEST" mode on scantool and press [F1] to start

  4. Dose tilt motor work properly?

    YES 

    • Go to  1 to Check tilt sensor procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good tilt motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace tilt motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check tilt sensor 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
  3. Monitor the "TILT SENSOR" Parameter on the Scantool. While operating tilt switch.

    Specification:  Refer the specifications in Fig.5)

  4. Is the measured voltage within specifications in Fig5)?

    YES 

    • Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good tilt motor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace tilt motor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
