Alarm Module: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the crash pad lower panel.

3. Remove the steering column assembly.

4. Disconnect the 5P connector of the SMARTRA unit and then remove the SMARTRA unit (A) after loosening a shear bolt (B).





NOTE:
When remove the shear bolt (B), make a groove on head of the shear bolt by using a punch.

Installation

1. Install the immobilizer control unit after connecting the unit connector.
2. Install the steering column assembly.

NOTE:
Do not reuse the shear bolt.
When install the new shear bolt to the immobilizer unit, tighten the shear bolt until its head is cut off.

3. Install the crash pad lower panel.
