Component Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF" & Engine "OFF".
  2. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
  3. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
  4. Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
  5. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
  6. Is the same DTC present?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good HECU and check for proper operation.

      If problem is corrected, replace HECU and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

      NOTE:
      • In a case of replacing HECU, operate following functions
        1. "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction (refer to C1261 ) - ESC only
        2. "Longituginal Sensor Calibration" for Longituginal sensor offset correction (refer to C1285 ) - ESC only
        3. "Variant Coding" for 2WD/4WD type setting (refer to C1702 )

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by a poor connection of HECU or was repaired and HECU memory was not cleared. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
