Repair procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • In the case of the vehicle equipped with immobilizer, perform "KEY TEACHING" procedure together (Refer to TEACHING PROCEDURES ).
  • When replacing an PCM, the VIN must be programmed in the PCM. If there is no VIN in PCM memory, the fault code (DTC P0630) is set.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the cover of the PCM & relay box (A).

  3. Disconnect the PCM connectors (A).

  4. Unscrew the PCM bracket mounting bolt (B) and the nuts (C), and then remove the PCM.
  5. Install a new PCM.

    PCM installation bolts (on bracket) : 

    9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lbf.ft)

    PCM bracket installation bolt/nuts: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lbf.ft)

  6. Perform "Key Teaching" procedure (Refer to TEACHING PROCEDURES ).
  7. Input the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) (Refer to VIN PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE ).
