Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly (A).

  3. Pull up the lock of the HECU connector, then disconnect the connector.

  4. Disconnect the brake tubes from the HECU by unlocking the nuts counterclockwise with a spanner.

    Tightening torque: 

    13.7 ~ 16.7N.m (1.4 ~ 1.7kgf.m, 10.1 ~ 12.3lb-ft)

  5. Loosen the HECU bracket bolts (A), then remove HECU and bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    19.6 ~ 29.4N.m (2.0 ~ 3.0kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 21.7lb-ft)

    CAUTION:
    1. Never attempt to disassemble the HECU.
    2. Never shock the HECU.
  6. Remove the 2 nuts (B), then remove the bracket from HECU.

    Tightening torque: 

    5.9 ~ 9.8N.m (0.6 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 4.3 ~ 7.2lb-ft)
