DESCRIPTION
In an effort to assist customers to keep track of their next vehicle maintenance interval, many of the late model Hyundai vehicles are equipped with the Service Interval Reminder Feature.
Follow the information outlined in this bulletin to enable and set the Service Interval Reminder Feature on applicable models. Perform this operation during:
- New vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspection process
- Shipped vehicles may arrive with the Service Interval Reminder set to OFF.
- Finalizing new or used vehicle delivery with customer
- Completion of routine maintenance service
- Completion of any engine repair requiring new engine oil

- 2014-2016MY Equus
- 2015-2016MY Genesis
- 2015MY and later Sonata
- 2016MY and later Sonata Hybrid
- 2016MY and later Sonata Plug-in Hybrid
- 2016MY and later Tucson
- 2017MY and later Elantra
- 2017MY and later Ioniq Hybrid
2018MY and later → ALL Hyundai models are equipped with this feature.
NOTE:
Refer to the corresponding model Owner's Manual chapter for more details:
- Chapter (4 - "Features of your vehicle") or (3 - "Convenient features of your vehicle")
> User settings mode > Service interval
- Follow the published instructions to activate the "Service Interval".
- Follow the display to set MILEAGE and MONTH until next maintenance interval.
SERVICE INTERVAL REMINDER DISPLAY RESETTING
Whenever a routine maintenance that includes an engine oil and filter replacement was performed:
- Confirm that the Service Interval reminder feature is enabled (activate and set if necessary).
- Reset the countdown of the Service Interval if it is already active.
- Refer to the appropriate Owner's Manual for the recommended Normal or Severe intervals.
SERVICE INTERVAL REMINDER SYSTEM ENABLING AND SETTING EXAMPLES
NOTE:
Depending on the model and trim level, methods to access the Service Interval menu may differ. In addition, the graphics of the subject vehicle may differ from the example pictures shown below.
Cluster-Based User Settings Menu
- This is the most common system to access the Service Interval menu.
- Press the (Mode) button on steering wheel and navigate to User Settings in the IP cluster.
- Use the adjacent (Move) and (Select/Reset) buttons/switches on the steering wheel to select:
- Service Interval > Enable Service Interval > Set/Adjust Interval
- (On certain systems) Select "YES" when "Save?" is prompted prior to exiting the setting menu.
AVN-Based Vehicle Settings Menu
- This system may be equipped on recent higher trim model options with touch-screen AVN.
- Press the SETUP button on the control panel and then select Vehicle Settings on-screen.
- Follow the touch-screen menu and navigate to the following items:
- Cluster > Service Interval > Enable Service Interval > Enter Interval Distance/Time
