Component Inspection

■ Check Evaporative Emission system for leakage 

  1. IG KEY "OFF".
  2. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. IG KEY "On" and start the engine (idle condition).
  4. Select and press "EVAP LEAKAGE TEST" mode in the GDS.

  5. Is the measured voltage within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM (PCM)'s connector or was repaired and ECM (PCM) memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
