Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Move the shift lever to "Nl".
  2. Turn ignition OFF switch and the disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  4. Remove the battery and battery tray.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  5. Remove the ECM.

    (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  6. Disconnect the position switch connector (A).

  7. Loosen the mounting nut (A) and then separate the shift cable (B) from the bracket.

  8. Remove the manual control lever (B) after loosening the mounting nut (A).

  9. Loosen the bolts and then remove the position switch (A).
