Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
  2. Remove the drive belt.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "DRIVE BELT ")

  3. Loosening the alternator upper mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)

  4. Lift the vehicle.
  5. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  6. Remove the roll road bracket.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE MOUNTING ")

  7. Remove the compressor.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "COMPRESSOR ")

  8. Remove the alternator "B" terminal mounting nut (A), and separate the cable.
  9. Disconnect the alternator connector (B), and then separate the clip (C).
  10. Loosening the alternator lower mounting bolt (D), and then remove the alternator.

"B" terminal mounting nut:  9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 Ib.ft)

Alternator lower mounting bolt:  49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)
