Power Transistor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Infiniti Q45 and 2000 Infiniti G20. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Power transistor is located in distributor. Disconnect distributor 2-pin and 6-pin harness connectors. Measure resistance between distributor 2-pin connector terminal No. 7 (Green wire) distributor 6-pin connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire). If resistance is zero ohms, replace distributor assembly.
