Distributor Ignition (Di) System

Distributor ignition system uses one ignition coil with an integral power transistor located within distributor. Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is also located within distributor. If any of these components are defective, entire distributor assembly must be replaced (except distributor cap and rotor). ECM receives information such as injection pulse width and Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor signal. Using this information, ECM sends signals to the power transistor (integral with ignition coil).
