Security Light Check
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) harness connector. Measure voltage at terminal No. 31 (Brown/Yellow wire) at SECU harness connector. See Figure
. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, SECURITY light circuit is okay at this time.
- Check SECURITY light bulb. If bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is defective, replace SECURITY light bulb.
- Disconnect SECURITY light harness connector. Measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (Red/Green wire) at SECURITY light harness connector. If battery voltage exists, repair open or short in Brown/Yellow wire between SECURITY light and SECU. If battery voltage does not exist, check for the following and repair as necessary:
- Faulty fuse No. 24 (7.5-amp) in instrument panel fuse box.
- Open and/or short in Red/Green wire between instrument panel fuse box and SECURITY light.
