Front Axle Hub: Installation

HINT:

  1. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD) 
    1. Apply MP grease to a new O-ring.
    2. Install the O-ring to the axle hub.
      NOTE: Do not damage the O-ring.
    3. Install the dust cover and axle hub to the steering knuckle with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 99 N*m (1010 kgf*cm, 73 ft.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD) 
    1. Apply MP grease to a new O-ring.
    2. Install the O-ring to the axle hub.
      NOTE: Do not damage the O-ring.
    3. Connect the front drive shaft to the front axle hub.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the front drive shaft boot.
    4. Install the dust cover and axle hub to the steering knuckle with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 99 N*m (1010 kgf*cm, 73 ft.*lbf)

  3. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT LH (for 4WD) 
    1. Install the nut, front wheel adjusting lock cap and a new cotter pin.

      Torque: 338 N*m (3446 kgf*cm, 249 ft.*lbf)

  4. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB 
    1. Inspect the front axle hub (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ).
  5. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP LH (for 4WD) 
    1. Install the axle hub grease cap.
      NOTE: Make sure to securely fit the bearing to the axle hub.
  6. INSTALL FRONT DISC LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the front disc brake caliper and install 2 new bolts.

      Torque: 99 N*m (1010 kgf*cm, 73 ft.*lbf)

      NOTE:
      • Do not twist the flexible hose.
      • Make sure that the bolts are free from damage and foreign matter.
      • Do not overtighten the bolts.
    2. Connect the brake tube bracket to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

  8. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: for Aluminum Wheel 

    131 N*m (1336 kgf*cm, 97 ft.*lbf) 

    for steel Wheel 

    209 N*m (2131 kgf*cm, 154 ft.*lbf) 

  9. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 
    1. Check the speed sensor signal (see TEST MODE PROCEDURE ).
