Fuel Pressure Check

  1. FUEL PRESSURE CHECK 

    For USA and CANADA

    1. Release fuel pressure to zero.
    2. Install fuel pressure check adapter (A) between fuel damper and injector tube.
      CAUTION: Before disconnecting fuel line, release fuel pressure from fuel line to eliminate danger.
      NOTE:
      • Prepare pans or saucers under the disconnected fuel line because the fuel may spill out. The fuel pressure cannot be completely released because this models do not have fuel return system.
      • Use Fuel Pressure Gauge Kit (J-44321) to check fuel pressure.
    3. Connect pressure gauge (B) to fuel pressure check adapter.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON and check for fuel leakage.
    5. Perform INSPECTION MODE 5. Refer to "DESCRIPTION ".
    6. Start engine and check for fuel leakage.
    7. Read the indication of fuel pressure gauge at idling.

      Specification: Approximately 350 kPa (3.57 kg/cm 2  , 51 psi) 

    For MEXICO

    1. Release fuel pressure to zero.
    2. Install fuel pressure check adapter (KV10117600) (A) between fuel damper (1) and injector tube.
      CAUTION: Before disconnecting fuel line, release fuel pressure from fuel line to eliminate danger.
      NOTE: Prepare pans or saucers under the disconnected fuel line because the fuel may spill out. The fuel pressure cannot be completely released because this models do not have fuel return system.
    3. Connect pressure gauge (B) to fuel pressure check adapter.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON and check for fuel leakage.
    5. Perform INSPECTION MODE 5. Refer to "DESCRIPTION ".
    6. Start engine and check for fuel leakage.
    7. Read the indication of fuel pressure gauge at idling.

      Specification: Approximately 350 kPa (3.5 bar, 3.57 kg/cm 2  , 51 psi) 

      Is the inspection result normal? 

      YES: INSPECTION END

      NO: GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK FUEL HOSE AND FUEL TUBE 

    If result is unsatisfactory, check fuel hoses and fuel tubes for clogging.

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: Replace fuel filter and fuel pump assembly. Refer to "EXPLODED VIEW ".

    NO: Repair or replace error-detected parts.
