Air Flow Sensor & Harness

  1. Partly raise the sealing gasket on the air flow sensor side of the harness connector. Using a voltmeter, check the sensor. See Air Flow Sensor Table.
    AIR FLOW SENSOR

    Wiring Condition Voltage
    Red Ignition On 10-14
    Green Ignition On .2-.6
    Green Engine Running 1.0-2.0
    Black Ignition On 0
  2. Check the air flow by-pass circuit for contamination and clean with carburetor cleaner as necessary. DO NOT immerse switch in carburetor cleaner.

  3. Before checking air flow wiring harness, turn ignition off and disconnect harness from sensor and control unit. Test harness with an ohmmeter.
  4. All three wires must show no resistance between sensor and control unit. Also, ensure harness is not grounded.
