Line Pressure Test

  1. Road test vehicle to bring transmission to normal operating temperature. Connect pressure gauge to front plug on transmission. See Fig 1 . Place gauge so that it is visible from driver's seat. Connect tachometer to engine.
  2. Start engine and if necessary, adjust idle speed to 900 RPM (1000 RPM on I-Mark). Depress brake pedal and place selector lever in "D". Note line pressure reading on gauge. Pressure should be approximately as shown in LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  3. Repeat line pressure test with selector lever in "R". Pressure should be approximately as shown in LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table.

Test port locations apply to all transmissions.
