Fuel-Cut System

Controlled by the throttle position switch, this system shuts off fuel flow during vehicle deceleration to reduce exhaust emissions. With engine warm, vehicle at cruising speed, and throttle position switch returned to idle position, ECU reduces impulses to fuel injectors. A throttle position sensor is used with turbocharged engines. The sensor controls the fuel cut system.
