Preliminary Checks

Electrical tests should be performed prior to hydraulic testing to ensure problem is not in electrical components or circuits. Before testing transmission ensure the following conditions are met:

• Ensure fluid level is correct for transmission and transfer case.
• Check fluid condition.
• Check throttle cable for proper adjustment.
• Ensure battery is fully charged for accurate testing and shift lever position is adjusted correctly.
• Inspect and adjust neutral start switch.
• Inspect and adjust transfer shift lever.
• Ensure idle speed is correct.
