Oxygen (O2) Sensor

The O2 sensor generates a voltage which varies with oxygen content in exhaust gas. O2 sensor voltage signal is only read by ECM when fuel system is in closed loop. As oxygen content rises (lean mixture), voltage falls. As oxygen content falls (rich mixture), voltage rises.
