Abs Function Test
NOTE:
BRAKE warning light should remain on if parking brake is applied and ignition is turned on.
- Turn ignition on and note operation of ANTI-LOCK indicator light and BRAKE warning light on instrument panel. ANTI-LOCK indicator light and BRAKE warning light should come on for 2 seconds and then go off.
- If ANTI-LOCK indicator light does not come on for 2 seconds and then go off, see SELF-CHECK CHART table for proper test to be performed. If ANTI-LOCK indicator light remains on, check for stored diagnostic codes. See RETRIEVING CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- If no diagnostic codes are stored, but ANTI-LOCK indicator light remains on, see SELF-CHECK CHART table for proper test to be performed.
NOTE:
If ANTI-LOCK indicator and BRAKE warning lights operate correctly in self-check, but wheels lock with hard stops, see Figure.
