System Operation Check

WARNING: After completing repairs, turn ignition on from passenger side of vehicle to prevent injury in case of accidental air bag deployment.

Turn ignition switch to ON position. INFL REST indicator light should flash 7-9 times and then turn off. This indicates SIR system is functioning properly. SIR system is malfunctioning and requires repair under the following conditions:

If INFL REST indicator light does not illuminate as described.
If when engine is cranking, INFL REST indicator light does not remain on steady.
If after cranking and engine start, INFL REST indicator light does not blink 7-9 times and then go out.
If after cranking and engine start, INFL REST indicator light begins to flash a Code 12.
