WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Isuzu Trooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect cruise control actuator harness connector. Measure resistance or current at specified actuator terminals. See CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR RESISTANCE table. SeeFig 1 . Replace cruise control actuator if readings are not as specified.
  2. Apply battery voltage to actuator terminal No. 2, and ground actuator terminal No. 3. Actuator motor should operate. Apply battery voltage to actuator terminal No. 2, and ground actuator terminals No. 1, 3 and 4. Actuator cable should move.
  3. Disconnect actuator terminals No. 1 and 4, leaving all other terminals intact. Actuator cable should pull back. If actuator does not test as described, replace actuator or vacuum pump.
