Cruise Control Module

Disconnect cruise control module connector. Perform all circuit tests at cruise control module wiring harness connector. See Fig 1 . Ensure ignition and cruise control main switch are on. Unless told otherwise, check circuit between specified terminal and ground. See appropriate table:

CRUISE CONTROL MODULE HARNESS CONNECTOR TERMINAL (1)

Between Circuit Test Condition Specification
1 & Ground PCM Ignition & Main Switch On Continuity
2 & Ground Main Switch - Continuity To Ground
3 & Ground Cruise Indicator Light Ignition Switch On 0 Volts
4 & Ground Clutch Switch (M/T) Clutch Pedal Depressed 12 Volts
4 & Ground Clutch Switch (M/T) Clutch Depressed 12 Volts
4 & Ground Mode Switch (A/T) Gear Selector In P R & N 0 Volts
4 & Ground Mode Switch (A/T) Gear Selector In D 3 2 & L 12 Volts
5 & Ground Vent Valve See CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR Test 62-72 Ohms
6 & Ground Ground - Continuity To Ground
7 & Ground Vacuum Pump See CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR Test 2 Amps Maximum
9 & 2 Resume Switch Resume Switch On Continuity
10 & 2 Set Switch Set Switch On Continuity
12 & Ground Starter Ignition Switch In Start Position 12 Volts
14 & Ground Safety Valve See CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR Test 62-72 Ohms
15 & Ground Main Switch Ignition Switch In Start Position 12 Volts
16 & 2 Brakelight Switch Pedal Depressed No Continuity
16 & 2 Brakelight Switch Pedal Released Continuity
19 & Ground Vehicle Speed Sensor - 13.5K Ohms To Infinite
20 & Ground Brakelight Switch Pedal Released/ Depressed 0 Volts/12 Volts
(1) Connector terminals not listed are not used.
