Test C-1: Sensor Output Inspection
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EHCU/coil intergrated module 16-pin harness connector. Raise and support vehicle. Using DVOM set to AC scale, measure AC voltage between appropriate terminals for wheel speed sensor in question at EHCU harness connector. See WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION table. Turn appropriate wheel by hand at least one Revolution Per Seccond (RPS). If voltage is less than 200 millivolts, go to next step. If voltage is 200 millivolts or greater, sensor output is okay.
- Disconnect harness connector for wheel speed sensor in question. Using DVOM, measure resistance of wheel speed sensor. If resistance is 2.0-2.8 k/ohms for either front wheel speed sensor or 1.0-1.6 for rear wheel speed sensor, connector or harness between wheel speed sensor and EHCU is faulty. Repair as necessary. If resistance is not as specified, replace wheel speed sensor.
