Transfer Shift Arm Assembly: Reassembly

  1. Place shift block in transfer case. Install shift blocks and arm onto high-low shift rod. Engage high-low sleeve with 4H side facing upward and install spring pin into shift block. See Fig 4.
  2. Engage hi-low sleeve with 4H side. Install spring pin into shift block and shift arm. See Fig 5. Install select rod assembly. Install spring. Engage hi-low sleeve with 4H side and install interlock pin in proper direction. Install shift rod with interlock pin pushed in.
  3. Install 4WD indicator switch. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install shift block, shift arm, 2WD-4WD shift rod, and spring. Engage 2WD-4WD sleeve with 4WD side and install spring pin with punch. Install remaining spring pin and bridge. Install detent ball, spring and plug. Tighten plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
