Section 16 (Automatic A/C-Heater Systems): Self-Diagnostics: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Isuzu VehiCROSS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Automatic control unit monitors several components of the A/C-heater system. If a fault is detected in any of these components during their operation, a current DTC is recorded in automatic control unit. If cause of fault is no longer detected, DTC is no longer considered to be a "current" DTC. If a fault is monitored 16 times, it will be stored as a "history" DTC in automatic control unit memory. History DTCs will remain stored in memory until cleared. Current DTCs or history DTCs do not identify failed components, they only identify faults detected in a specified circuit. Always verify electrical circuit integrity and check operation of suspected failed components, before replacing any component.
