A/C System Performance
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Isuzu VehiCROSS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
As ambient temperature and humidity change, A/C system operating pressures will increase or decrease, respectively.
Ensure ambient temperature is 77-86°F (25-30°C). Connect manifold gauge set to A/C system service valves. Run engine at idle. Turn A/C switch on. Operate blower motor at high speed setting. Set temperature selector to full cold position. Activate recirculation for air source mode. Close all doors. Allow system to stabilize. Check low-side and high-side pressure readings. Low-side pressure reading should be 21-43 psi (1.5-3.0 kg/cm2 ). High-side pressure reading should be 199-270 psi (14.0-19.0 kg/cm2 ). Outlet air temperature at center outlet air vent should be about 20°F (-6.7°C) colder than outside ambient air temperature.
