A/T Shift Indicator Module: Description and Operation

Circuit Operation
With the starter switch in ON OR START battery voltage is applied to the automatic transmission mode switch through the C-14 BACKUP TURN fuse. The automatic transmission mode switch sends a signal to the powertrain control module (PCM) and the multi-plexed indicator control unit corresponding to the gear selected. The multi-plexed indicator control unit applies voltage to the appropriate A/T shift indicator lamp in the meter assembly, causing it to come on.
