Circuit Description

PCM checks validity of signals used in ION Sensing Module (ISM). This test is performed to evaluate if Knock Intensity (KI) signal pulse width is within a predetermined range. If KI signal pulse width is out of predetermined range, fail counter will be incriminated. If failure counter exceeds calibration, then test is complete and a failure will be reported. If the sample counter threshold is reached before the failure threshold, then test is complete and a pass will be reported. This test will detect an open/short in KI line circuit, ISM faults and analog input faults in PCM.
