Front Wheel Speed Sensor (2WD Model): Removal

NOTE:
  • Do not strike the speed sensor plastic cover or the connector with the hammer.
  • Keep the sensor rotor and the inside bearing surfaces clean at all times.
  • Do not reuse the old speed sensor.
  • Inspect the hub contact surfaces for damage before installing it.
  1. Remove the front hub assembly from the knuckle. Refer to the workshop manual.
  2. Insert Seal Cutter (J-37228) between the hub mating surface and remove the speed sensor from the hub.
    NOTE: Pay careful attention not to damage the sensor rotor and hub mating surface.

  3. Remove the speed sensor straight from the hub with a punch or equivalent.
