Spark Plug: Adjustments

1. Remove spark plugs. Refer to Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Spark Plug/Service and Repair.
2. Clean or replace plugs as needed.

Checking Spark Plug For Wear, Damage, Or Deposits:

3. Set plug gap to:

.035 in (0.9 MM)

NOTE: Field experience has shown that a plug gap of 0.040 - 0.042 in will give a better idle condition in many instances of poor quality idle.

4. Refit plugs and torque to:

17-20 lb ft (23-28 Nm)
