Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

Linear Gearbox Switch:






PURPOSE
Two linear gearbox selector actuated switches cause ECU idle speed corrections required to compensate for engine load changes that occur when "P" or "N" are engaged or disengaged.

OPERATION
Sliding switches move with gear selector lever. Signal to ECU corresponds to "P" or "N" positions.

LOCATION
Shift console inside vehicle.
