Intake Air Temperature Switch: Testing and Inspection

Air Temperature Switch:

1. Unplug switch wires and connect an ohmmeter across switch connectors.
2. At ambient temperatures below 167°F (75°C), there should be no continuity.
3. Place a suitable thermometer adjacent to sensor. With heat gun, hair dryer or heat lamp, warm sensor until ohmmeter shows continuity. At that point, temperature must be close to 167°F (75°C).
4 If not as specified, replace switch.
