Alternator - BOSCH: Description

Bosch 115A alternator features a 3-phase, star-wound stator, 12-pole rotor, full wave rectification, and a solid state voltage regulator. Voltage is controlled at 14 volts and maximum output is 115 amps. Alternator is fitted with an external radio suppressor capacitor. See Fig 1.

An alternator load dump module protects alternator and vehicle electrical systems from high transient voltages caused by removal of battery leads or loose battery connections.
