Alternator Cable Continuity
- Disconnect leads from alternator terminals, turn ignition on, connect voltmeter to a good ground and to each lead in turn. See Fig 1. Battery voltage should be obtained from each lead.

- If a low or zero reading is obtained on main B lead, check starter solenoid connections, terminal posts and battery connections.
- If low or zero reading is obtained on D lead, check warning light, wiring from ignition switch to warning light and wiring from warning light to alternator. If no fault is found, turn ignition off and reconnect leads to alternator.
