Computerized Engine Controls: Notes
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) controls fuel injection and ignition systems. The ECM maintains optimum engine performance under any operating condition by metering fuel delivery into each cylinder and adjusting ignition timing.
All system control functions are controlled by the microprocessor in the ECM, which receives information from various sensors located on and around the engine. System is equipped with a limp-home mode to permit continued engine operation in the event of certain sensor failures.
