Front Toe-In Adjustment
NOTE:
The vehicle must be checked prior to any adjustments being made to establish that it conforms to the Jaguar original specification, such as wheels, tires, tire pressures, etc.
- Start the engine and center the steering wheel. Turn the engine off, and hold the steering wheel in the straight ahead position by attaching a rigid link from the steering wheel to the brake pedal.
- Following the alignment equipment manufacturers instructions, check the toe settings.
- Loosen the tie rod end lock nuts. See Figure . Clean and lubricate the lock nut and tie rod threads.
- Rotate the tie rod to adjust the toe-in setting. Adjust as necessary. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS .
- Ensuring the tie rod end lock nut does not turn, tighten lock nut to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Following the alignment equipment manufacturers instructions, recheck the toe settings..
CAUTION:
Do not allow the steering gear boot to twist when adjusting the tie rods. Allowing steering gear boot to twist may result in damage to the vehicle.
