Engine Control Module (ECM) (18.30.01): Removal

Disconnect the battery ground cable. BATTERY
Remove the cowl vent screen. FRONT END BODY PANELS (2003.5-09)
Remove the cabin air filter.
- Detach the cabin air filter.
- Remove the cabin air filter.

Remove the cabin air filter housing.

Remove the engine compartment panel.
Remove the engine compartment panel retaining bolt.
- Remove the engine compartment panel.

NOTE: The engine control module (ECM) electrical connector retaining bolt remains captive in the electrical connector.

Using the special tool, loosen the ECM electrical connector retaining bolt.
Disconnect the ECM electrical connector.

Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.
- Remove the retaining clips.
- Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.

Remove the ECM retaining bracket.

Remove the ECM.
- Detach the retaining clips.
- Remove the ECM.
