Adaptive Speed Control Radar Sensor

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2009 Jaguar XKR, 2009 Jaguar XK8, 2008 Jaguar XKR, 2008 Jaguar XK8, and 2007 Jaguar XKR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The adaptive speed control radar sensor is located in the front bumper, on the RH side above the radiator grill behind the bumper cover. The sensor is connected to the Adaptive Speed Control, module via a private CAN bus. If the unit is replaced in service the unit must be re-aligned vertically.

Horizontal alignment is achieved by putting the sensor in service mode via IDS. The vehicle is then driven for a short period while the sensor calibrates itself. Calibration is complete when the 'follow' icon in the instrument cluster stops flashing.
