ISSUE
A small but growing number of warranty claims have been received for rotary gear selector modules with cosmetic damage after Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), and the replacement component and labour time has been claimed against the vehicle warranty.
CONTENT
Cause: From investigation of the warranty claims it is felt these issues were likely to be customer caused damage.
ACTION
This Special Service Message is to reinforce the warranty policy that only manufacturing defects can be claimed for. Warranty claims for cosmetic issues with the rotary gear selector module after PDI may be rejected.
