SERVICE INFORMATION

Symptom 000101 Diagnostic Concerns

ISSUE

Multiple Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)'s logged in the Restrains Control Module (RCM) after configuration has been completed. Displayed DTC's are B1001-56, B1003-56, B1004-56, B1005-56, B1006-56, U2100-00, U3000-49, U3002-51

CAUSE

The software CX23-14C028-AD is not compatible with the earlier hardware CX23-14C246-AA

ACTION

Procedure 1 - To download fix from server 

  1. Launch "Internet Explorer".
  2. "Paste" this link:

    http://www.techservice.jlrext.com/vdirs/wds/FileTran/JLR/DSFM_JLR_PatchFiles.asp into the address bar at the top of the Internet Explorer page.

  3. Press "Enter" key.
  4. Type the file name "12MY_ON_X250_RCM.zip"  into the search box.
  5. Click "Download".
  6. A Pop-up box will appear - Click "Save".
  7. Download zip file "12MY_ON_X250_RCM.zip"  to your SDD desktop. 
  8. Continue to Procedure 2 

Procedure 2 - To load fix to SDD 

Content

  1. From the SDD Menu screen, press the "Windows"  key and "D"  key together to access the desktop.
  2. Locate file - "12MY_ON_X250_RCM.zip"  on the desktop.
  3. Double-Click on "12MY_ON_X250_RCM.zip" 
  4. Double-Click on "12MY_ON_X250_RCM.exe". 
  5. A WinZip Caution pop up box will appear, Select "Yes"  .
  6. Select "Unzip" in the WinZip Self extractor box.
  7. Select "OK" when "1 file unzipped successfully" message appears.
  8. Select "Close" in the WinZip Self extractor box.
  9. Restart the SDD machine.
  10. Continue to Procedure 3

Procedure 3 - Program the RCM with seed code for software regression. 

  1. Connect SDD machine to the vehicle using the communication device.
  2. Start a new session
  3. Select the "Diagnostic session" tab in the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select symptoms Electrical > Instruments > Warning lamps > Air bag warning lamp 
  5. From the Vehicle Specification screen. Select the "KEY" on the left hand side.
  6. A Seed code pop up box will appear, Note the Seed code and submit on a TA for software regression.
  7. When Technical Support supply a return code, enter the return code in capital letters into the seed code pop box.
  8. Select "continue" 
  9. Select "Service Functions"  from the top of the screen
  10. Select "Configure new module - Restraints Control Module" 
  11. Complete all on screen instruction until screen "Confirm software parts to be downloaded" 
  12. Select the green tick 
  13. A pop up box will appear for Operator question Select the Green tick 
  14. Complete all on screen instructions.
  15. Continue to Procedure 4 

Procedure 4 - DTC clear and re-read 

  1. Select "Recommendations"  from the top of the screen.
  2. Select "Complete vehicle - Clear all stored diagnostic trouble codes" 
  3. Complete all on screen instructions
  4. When DTC clear is complete and the recommendations screen is displayed, Select "Complete vehicle - Re-read all stored diagnostic trouble codes" 
  5. Complete all on screen instructions
  6. Select "DTCs"  from the top of the screen.
  7. Check for DTC U201B-57 Control Module Calibration Data #2 
  8. If DTC U201B-57  is present Continue to Procedure 5 
  9. If no DTC's Continue to Procedure 7 

Procedure 5 - Add/remove accessories - Bumper replacement for DTCU201B-57 present. 

  1. Select "Service Functions"  from the top of the screen.
  2. Select Add/remove accessories - Bumper replacement 
  3. Select correct bumper and select the Green tick 
  4. Complete all on screen instructions
  5. If a failure happens during removal of build mode continue to Procedure 6 
  6. If no failure complete Procedure 4 

Procedure 6 - Special applications - Restraints build mode 

  1. Select "Special applications - Restraints build mode" 
  2. Select "Normal mode" 
  3. Complete all on screen instructions.
  4. If no failure complete Procedure 4 

Procedure 7 - to remove fix file so vehicle with later hardware can be programmed. 

  1. From the SDD Menu screen, press the "Windows"  key and "D"  key together to access the desktop.
  2. Locate file - "12MY_ON_X250_RCM.zip"  on the desktop.
  3. Double-Click on "12MY_ON_X250_RCM.zip" 
  4. Double-Click on "Del_12MY_ON_X250_RCM.bat". 
  5. A WinZip Caution pop up box will appear, Select "Yes"  .
  6. A C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe  Box will appear with "Press any key to continue"
