DTC P0234-85: Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition - Signal above allowable range: Action
NOTE:
- The engine may be damaged by excessive engine speed or boost pressure.
- To validate the repair, clear the DTCs and perform a road test that consists of three drive cycles (engine on/off).
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the variable geometry turbocharger vane actuator circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the variable geometry turbocharger vane actuator position sensor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Check the integrity of the variable geometry turbocharger vanes and linkage. Rectify as necessary
- Check the operation of the variable geometry turbocharger vane actuator. Install a new variable geometry turbocharger vane actuator as necessary
- Check the intake system for excessive engine oil. Check the positive crankcase ventilation system for leaks and blockages. Check the variable geometry turbocharger bearings. Rectify as necessary
- Check the fuel injectors. Install new fuel injectors as necessary
- Check the electric throttle for obstructions. Rectify as necessary
- Check the operation of the electric throttle. Install a new electric throttle as necessary
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the manifold absolute pressure sensor signal circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness or install a new manifold absolute pressure and temperature sensor as necessary
