Positive Contactor (G2260683): Installation

  1. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.

    • Install the positive contactor.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    • Install 2 new M5 X 18 bolts.

    Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Positive contactor bolt(s) - M5 X 18  Quantity: 2  .

    Torque  : 4.3Nm 

  2. CAUTION:
    • Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.
    • Before installing any High Voltage (HV) electrical component make sure the mating surfaces are cleaned using an alcohol based cleaning fluid using a lint free cloth only.

    • Connect the electrical connector.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    • Position the busbar onto the positive contactor.

      General Equipment: Lint free cloth 

      General Equipment: Alcohol based cleaning fluid 

    • Install a new M8 nut.

    Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Busbar nut(s) - M8  Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 10Nm 

  3. CAUTION:
    • Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.
    • Before installing any High Voltage (HV) electrical component make sure the mating surfaces are cleaned using an alcohol based cleaning fluid using a lint free cloth only.
    • Make sure the HV wiring harness cable shoe is installed to the correct orientation.

    • Install and tighten 2 new M10 X 22 fuse bolts.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

      General Equipment: Lint free cloth 

      General Equipment: Alcohol based cleaning fluid 

      Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Fuse to busbar bolt(s) - M10 X 22  Quantity: 2  .

      Torque  : 24Nm 

    • Tighten the 2 M10 X 22 fuse bolts.

    Torque  : 24Nm 

  4. CAUTION:
    • Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.
    • Before installing any High Voltage (HV) electrical component make sure the mating surfaces are cleaned using an alcohol based cleaning fluid using a lint free cloth only.
    • Make sure the HV wiring harness cable shoe is installed to the correct orientation.

    • Install the busbar.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

      General Equipment: Lint free cloth 

      General Equipment: Alcohol based cleaning fluid 

    • Install a new M8 X 20 busbar to main current sensor bolt.

      Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Busbar bolt(s) - M8 X 20  Quantity: 1  .

      Torque  : 19Nm 

    • Install a new M6 X 10 busbar to auxiliary circuit contractor bolt.

      Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Busbar bolt(s) - M6 X 10  Quantity: 1  .

      Torque  : 5.5Nm 

    • Install a new M8 nut.

    Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Busbar nut(s) - M8  Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 10Nm 

  5. CAUTION:
    • Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.
    • Before installing any High Voltage (HV) electrical component make sure the mating surfaces are cleaned using an alcohol based cleaning fluid using a lint free cloth only.

    • Install a new M3.5 X 5 temperature sensor bolt.

    General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    General Equipment: Lint free cloth 

    General Equipment: Alcohol based cleaning fluid 

    Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Temperature sensor bolt - M3.5 X 5  Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 1.5Nm 

  6. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.

    • Install the Battery Energy Module (BEM) harness support bracket.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    • Install 4 new 5 X 16 screws.

    Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) harness support bracket bolt(s) - 5 X 16  Quantity: 4  .

    Torque  : 5Nm 

  7. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.

    • Install the HV wiring harness on to the harness support bracket.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    • Install the low voltage wiring harness on to the harness support bracket.
  8. CAUTION:
    • Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.
    • Take care not to damage the High Voltage (HV) electrical connector wiring harness.

    • Install the BEM cover.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    • Install the HV connector wiring harness to the BEM base.
  9. CAUTION: Make sure that both the Battery Energy Module (BEM) lid and BEM base are held as the BEM is turned over.

    Carefully turn the BEM over.

    Install 9 new M6 X 28 BEM base bolts.

    Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) Baseplate bolt(s) - M6 X 28  Quantity: 9  .

    Torque  : 8.5Nm

    • Install the wiring harness on to the BEM base.
    • Connect the electrical connector to the printed circuit board.
  12. CAUTION: Before installing any High Voltage (HV) electrical component make sure the mating surfaces are cleaned using an alcohol based cleaning fluid using a lint free cloth only.

    Install 2 new M6 X 16 busbar to HV electrical connector bolts.

    General Equipment: Lint free cloth 

    General Equipment: Alcohol based cleaning fluid 

    Renew Part: Battery Electrical Module (BEM) High Voltage connector to busbar bolt(s) - M6 X 16 

    Quantity: 2  .

    Torque  : 9.5Nm 

  13. Install the BEM.

    Refer to: BATTERY ELECTRICAL MODULE .
