Neutral Safety Switch

On vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions, a gear selection indicator (input) signal is sent to the ECU from the neutral safety switch (located on left side of transmission). When the transmission is in the Drive range, the ECU will adjust engine idle speed to compensate for increased engine load.
