Ignition Feed To Ignition Module

  1. Ensure ignition coil primary circuit is okay. Disconnect ignition module 2-pin and 4-pin connectors. Turn ignition on. Connect voltmeter between ground and ignition module wiring harness Yellow wire at 2-pin connector. If reading is within 0.2 volts of battery voltage, replace ignition module and go to step 3).
  2. If reading is more than 0.2 volts of battery voltage, repair poor connections or wiring at ignition switch or bulkhead connector. After repairs check for spark at coil wire, If spark, is available end test. If spark is not available, replace ignition module.
  3. Connect 2-pin connector at ignition module, leave 4-pin connector disconnected. Connect ammeter between ground and ignition module wiring harness Black wire at 4-pin connector.
  4. If ammeter reading is 0.9-1.1 amps, ignition feed to ignition module is okay. If ammeter reading is higher or lower than 0.9-1.1 amps, replace ignition module.
