Test SP-8A, Checking Cruise Control Set Switch Circuit
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC). Inspect connector. If connector is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If connector is okay, turn ignition switch to ON position. Place DRB-II in volt-meter mode.
- Probe terminal No. 48 (Brown/Red wire) at SBEC connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace cruise control switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If voltage is less than 10 volts, access cruise control switch connector. See Figure . While holding SET switch down, backprobe terminal No. 3 (Brown/Red wire) at cruise control switch connector.
- If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace cruise control switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If voltage is more than 10 volts, continue to hold SET switch down and probe terminal No. 48 (Brown/Red wire) at SBEC connector.
- If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Brown/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace SBEC. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER .
