Cruise Control Circuit
- Disconnect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) 60-pin connector. Connect negative lead of voltmeter to a good chassis ground near SBEC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Depress and hold cruise control switch in OFF position.
- Touch positive lead of voltmeter to terminal No. 53 (Light Green/Red wire) at SBEC connector. Voltage should be zero volts with cruise control switch off and battery voltage with cruise control switch on. If voltage is not as specified, repair Light Green/Red wire as necessary. If voltage is as specified, go to next step.
- Measure voltage at terminal No. 33 (Tan/Red wire) at SBEC connector. Voltage should be zero volts with cruise control switch off and battery voltage with cruise control switch on. If voltage is not as specified, repair Tan/Red wire as necessary. If voltage is as specified, go to next step.
- Measure voltage at terminal No. 48 (Brown/Red wire) at SBEC connector with switch in specified position. Voltage reading should be as follows:
- Zero volts with cruise control switch off.
- Battery voltage with cruise control switch on.
- Pressing cruise control set button should cause voltage to change from battery voltage to zero volts.
If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check cruise control switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH . If cruise control switch is defective, replace switch. If cruise control switch is okay, repair Brown/Red wire as necessary.
- Measure voltage at terminal No. 50 (White/Light Green wire) at SBEC connector. Voltage should be zero volts with cruise control switch in OFF or ON positions. With cruise control switch on, depress resume button.
- Voltage at terminal No. 50 should show battery voltage. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check cruise control switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH . Replace cruise control switch, if defective. If cruise control switch is okay, repair White/Light Green wire as necessary.
- Measure voltage at terminal No. 49 (Yellow/Red wire) at SBEC connector. Voltage should be zero volts with cruise control switch off and battery voltage with cruise control switch on. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair Yellow/Red wire as necessary.
