Test 14A - Not Receiving Bus Messages Correctly

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, indicate whether vehicle is equipped with specific module. For module/system options available, refer to the MODULE APPLICATIONS  table under IDENTIFICATION. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector, if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace TCM. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  2. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  3. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) module connector, if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace CAB module. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  4. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) or Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC) connector. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace MIC or EIC. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  5. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) module connector, if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace VTSS module. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  6. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect compass/mini-trip module connector, if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace compass/mini-trip module. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  7. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect Infinity premium radio, if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace radio/CD player. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  8. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Wait 2 minutes before proceeding. Disconnect Air Bag Control Module (ACM), if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace ACM. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  9. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) module connector, if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace ATC module. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  10. If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector, if equipped. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not display NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1 . If scan tool displays NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY, replace scan tool cable or cartridge as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1 .
