Test 34A - EIC Switch Operation

NOTE: Perform TEST VER-1B  after each repair.
  1. Using scan tool, read EIC TRIP switch status. If scan tool displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace EIC. If scan tool does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Press and hold TRIP button. If scan tool does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace EIC. If scan tool displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Release TRIP button. Read EIC US/METRIC switch status. If scan tool displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace EIC. If scan tool does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to next step.
  4. Press US/METRIC button. If scan tool does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace EIC. If scan tool displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to next step.
  5. Release US/METRIC button. Read EIC reset switch status. If scan tool displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace EIC. If scan tool does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to next step.
  6. Press and hold RESET button. If scan tool does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace EIC. If scan tool displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, system is okay.
